Essential Question :

Faith Goal |
How can an arts integration philosophy allow me to engage every student in my classroom and drive learning forward?
|
I will be using our school resource "Formed.org" to reflect and learn. I will be joining a group to discuss the resource. The group will meet once a day and I will be blogging our discussions.
|
Why did I Choose art integration?
Art connects with real life in a holistic and natural way and gives students unique voice.
Art integration gives the student the freedom to choose how to show their learning and allows them to be successful.
The Plan / Focus ?
Examples :
Art - STEM Lego - Technology
Using Lego to create a self- portrait. This was the introduction to using Lego art in our class. Students used this to then create Stop Motion stories to visualize their own creative writing.

Health and Performance art
Students read a series of books about dealing with social situations, friendship and relationships. They then wrote up scripts and performed a skit with a lesson.

|
Art - Math - Social Studies
Art integration into Patterns, radial art and symmetry. Animals of North America were discussed as a Social Studies connection ( continents, cultures, animals,... etc) .
